Adventures in Color

Originally built in the 1950s, this Rogers Park home was thoughtfully renovated to celebrate its mid-century character while introducing modern comfort, functionality, and an adventurous use of color. The new owners wanted the home to remain true to its architectural roots and feel connected to the surrounding neighborhood.

Original oak floors were carefully restored, preserving the warmth and history of the interior. In the kitchen, quarter-sawn red oak slab cabinetry offers a clean, modern profile while highlighting the wood’s distinctive grain. A newly added mudroom provides practical everyday storage and includes a dedicated dog wash.

The bathrooms were completely reimagined with custom-made Heath and Fireclay tile. Earthy tones and unexpected color combinations bring depth, personality, and a handcrafted quality to each space. The finished home is a thoughtful balance of old and new—respectful of its past, distinctly personal, and designed for modern life.
