Age in Place Gracefully

This project was a delightful collaboration with a couple who wanted their home to reflect their unique personality while ensuring they could stay in it forever. To facilitate aging in place, we designed a small structural addition to house a striking, clear tube-style residential elevator—turning a necessity into a modern architectural feature. In the kitchen, we honored sustainability by repurposing existing granite tile countertops, seamlessly coordinating them with a refreshed color palette. The primary suite was completely transformed with bespoke cherry cabinetry and a spacious walk-in shower, anchored by a stunning custom wood and tile inlaid wall detail, that brings a signature touch of artistry to the space. The living room hosts the “Kitty Hydration Station” a fully custom-made sink area for tending to the couples’ thirsty cats. This project proves that "aging in place" can be architecturally exciting and deeply personal.
